Synopsis:

A newspaper editor working from home finds out the biggest scoop of his career and rushes his team through a chaotic video conference call to be the first to break the news.

Gerardo Coello Escalante is a Mexican filmmaker currently based in Brooklyn, New York. He was born and raised in Mexico City. He graduated from New York University with a BFA in Film & TV Production.

He has worked professionally in Narrative and Publicity content both in Mexico and New York, having Directed various short films of his own.

His feature film “Forgive Us Sinners” was chosen to be one of the ten projects at the 2019 Sundance Screenwriters Intensive, and was also part of the 2018 Creative Producing Summit at the Sundance Resort. He was a 2018 Sundance Ignite Fellow.

He has worked as a Freelance Director, Producer and 1st AD in Mexico and New York. His feature film credits include “Shiva Baby” (TIFF, SXSW 2020), "Tyrel" (2018 Sundance Film Festival), "Little Woods" (2018 Tribeca Film Festival), "Standing Up Falling Down" (2019 Tribeca Film Festival) and “18 To Party” (2019 Woodstock Film Festival).
